AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC FOREMAN, FSN-06/FP-08

Work Hours: Full-Time; 40 hours/week

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION
The incumbent maintains and performs major and minor repairs and overhaul on vehicles. S/he provides work guidance to other Local Staff in the General Services Office Mechanic unit.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Completion of Secondary School education and vocational training/apprenticeship recognized as producing journeyman auto mechanic skills is required.

Minimum of three (3) years of journeyman automotive mechanic experience and one additional year working on American made vehicles is required.

Level III (Good working knowledge) Speaking/Writing/Reading in English is required. Language proficiency will be tested.

Must have full journeyman knowledge of established practices and procedures of the automotive mechanic trade and a general knowledge of other trade specialties involved.

The ability to handle all tools including electronic diagnostic and automotive special tools required for the trade, as well as the ability to take instructions and adhere to safety regulations is required.

Basic typing skills, with a valid Nigerian Driver’s License is required.

WAREHOUSEMAN FSN-02/FP-CC

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION
The incumbent performs manual supply duties in the warehouse, unloads incoming supplies, office and household furniture and equipment.

S/he moves property from the receiving area to authorized storage area, confirms storage area with receiving supervisor.

S/he performs housekeeping duties in the storage areas to ensure a clean and safe environment, assist in conducting inventories.

S/he must ensure that all job activities and duties are performed in a responsible manner to avoid the creation of safety or health
hazards.

SURVEILLANCE DETECTION TECHNICIAN, FSN-05

Work Hours: Full-Time; 40 hours/week

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION

Incumbent is responsible for the compilation of individual reports in a standard format.
This includes the input of SD sighting reports and images into an automated data processing database; retrieving/extracting reports of data; regularly reviewing report data to identify trends, patterns, event occurrences, frequency of sightings and preparing appropriate reports for the RSO/ARSO’s review.
Also responsible for daily tracking of local crime reports from open sources and dissemination to about 100 addressees including foreign embassies in Nigeria.
S/he supports the Surveillance Detection (SD) Coordinator and shift supervisors in overseeing the SD team operations, administration and logistics. May be directed to work undercover during special events.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of three (3) years of work experience in computer data entry and surveillance detection is required. One of the three years of experience must be in military, police, surveillance/observation or security.

Good working knowledge of local security issues is required.

The ability to draft comprehensive reports, analyze and manage raw data as it pertains to surveillance detection operations and local crime is required.

LEGAL ADVISOR

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION

The incumbent serves as Legal Advisor for the Department of Justice’s Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development Assistance and Training (DOJ/OPDAT) Regional Intellectual Property Law Enforcement Coordinator (Regional IPLEC) based in Abuja, Nigeria, with responsibilities throughout Sub-Saharan Africa.

S/he develops and administers technical and developmental assistance designed to enhance the capabilities of foreign justice sector institutions and law enforcement to prevent and combat intellectual property offenses.

The core function of the position is to assist and advise the Regional IPLEC on policy, law enforcement and legal matters, as well as to determine, prepare and implement proposals and strategies for the Regional IPLEC’s activities, objectives and goals in the region.

In addition, the incumbent main responsibilities include, but are not limited to assisting the Regional IPLEC increase digital piracy prosecutions and seizures of counterfeit goods regionally by mentoring and training prosecutors, police, and judges, with the assistance of rights-holders and other private industry stakeholders.

S/he is supervised by the DOJ/OPDAT Regional Intellectual Property Law Enforcement Coordinator.

REQUIREMENTS

  • University degree in International Relations, Economics, Finance, Criminal Justice or Law is required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in legal or government work, particularly involving criminal litigation or legislation, regarding intellectual property or computer crime is required.

  • Language proficiency will be tested.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Nigerian political and legal leaders, key political, governmental, judicial and law enforcement institutions and hierarchies, as well as knowledge of relevant legislation, current events in politics, and legal reform, specifically in areas such as criminal law and intellectual property is required.
  • Must have strong legal research, analytical, judgment and time management skills; as well as highly developed problem solving and planning abilities.
  • Must have an initiative in managing and developing projects, interact effectively with government and non-government officials, as well as the ability to work as a team.
  • Proficiency in computer skills (Microsoft Office applications), numerical skills and typing skills are required.
  • Must be able to travel within and outside the sub-Saharan Africa region and have the flexibility to work some nights and weekends.
